I can’t be the only one who stashes goodies into the shopping bag/cart of their favorite online stores, right? I currently have the beauties below in my Anthropologie bag and on occasion I might accidentally leave the window open just in case husband runs across it and decides to get me a “just because I love you gift” or something like that.

Yes, I am familiar with the wish list tool but much prefer to put them in my bag because it feels more like a possible reality than a mere wish. Do you keep a running shopping cart, you know, just in case?

In light of the season I needed inspiration so I googled homemade costumes and happened upon this awesome list of The Worst Homemade Star Wars Costumes created by holy taco *. Here’s a shot of the first one just to lure you in and entice you to look at the post…pretty funny.

*note: I do not endorse this website, just needed to give a proper link back.

The girls and I were lucky enough to have lunch with Vallee and her dear mother (my sweet friend). Vallee is awesome and I thank you if you remembered her and her family even just once in prayer and I ask that you continue to do so. She is in a wheelchair but can walk at least 18 steps by herself, if need be. She might be pushing herself a little too hard but it seems to work for her. While at lunch I asked her if she remembered Delia and she said no and that her first day back to church when she saw me holding her she thought to herself, “wow, they had another baby?” Of course she remembered Charlotte who she graciously let sit on her lap while wheeling her around in her chair using her good leg…what a champ!
It was such a blessing to interact with her and see her humor in full force and more than anything to see her so happy. God blessed her with such a positive disposition and she sure needs it for the road he has paved for her. Vallee has yet to return to school but has multiple evaluations this week to determine therapy and what’s in store for the near future. Well, that’s all for now so please join me in thanking the Lord for her recovery up to this point and asking for his presence to be felt strongly by this beloved family. Thank you.

I knew that the day would come when Charlotte would be ill enough to require prescription meds and that day was yesterday. On Wednesday morning she woke up with her eyes sealed shut. After a bubble bath calmed her down I mistakenly determined she was fine because her eyes were not blood shot (therefore not conjunctivitis). I chalked the eye sealing up to allergies due to the changing seasons and we went on with our day. But, when she woke up at 4:30 Thursday morning asking me to fix her eyes and complaining that her ear hurt I knew a doctor visit was at hand.
A quick trip to the doctor revealed that my poor dear has a double ear infection and conjunctivitis with a fever. If she hadn’t had the fever the doctor assured me that we would wait on giving her antibiotics but since she was running a higher than normal temp she was prescribed amoxicillin. I’m not excited about having to give it to her but I guess it’s warranted. We’re combating the bad tummy side effects of antibiotics with her usual serving of yogurt plus Yum-Yum dophilus, chewable probiotics. Hopefully we will avoid any yucky tummy issues.
This really makes me realize how much I take our families health for granted. We are rarely ill and I need to remember to thank the Lord for that in a non flippant way…know what I mean?

As most everyone knows the liberals have thought it a good idea to boycott Whole Foods because of the CEO’s denouncement of obamacare as stated in this article from the Wall Street Journal.
Wow, I don’t know why but for some reason I am truly baffled at the lack of tolerance the left has for those who hold views contrary to their own. You would think that “idealists” would realize that supporting Whole Foods for all of the store’s positive aspects is much more important than boycotting it because of the CEO’s personal opinions. Some of those positive aspects include but are not limited to fair trade, organically and locally grown produce, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle (which ironically would lessen many of the health issues that face Americans).
In reaction to this boycott the TEA has decided to hold a “buycott” on Tuesday, September 1st. All of those in support of the freedom of speech, regardless of one’s personal opinion on obamacare, should step up and shop at your local Whole Foods. We need to fight back against those who bully others for simply sharing their personal views.
Yes, this place is nicknamed Whole Pay Check for a good reason but what an amazing place to spend our hard earned money. Better yet, what an amazing reason. Let’s go shopping!

“Look, I’m Mommy!” I have no idea what mommy she’s talking about cause this mommy doesn’t wear that shade or that amount of lipstick. Alright, she may have got it from my purse but the packaging didn’t say “clown red” when I bought it…very misleading, lipstick shade names are.

The girls and I got back from my folks on Friday after four days of relaxing fun. I did a whole bunch of nothing which included not getting in a car the entire time and actually getting to fall asleep during nap time….lovely. Here’s some pics of our time away from home.

Charlotte enjoying a huge lollipop

Delia enjoying not being set down for four days

Charlotte making friends
Oh, I did do one important thing which was plant Delia’s placenta by my Mom’s lilac bush. Since we are renters I wanted it to be somewhere that we know we’ll be able to visit for the foreseeable future, hence my parents yard…the ideal spot really.
